We worship together every Sunday of the year at 10:00 a.m. on Zoom or in person with praise, prayer, music, and song.
Heather Ivone Milliken, Pastor
We have recently called Heather Ivone Milliken to be our pastor and teacher. Pastor Heather was raised here in Barnstead and is thrilled to be called to serve this wonderful community. This is a second career for Heather, who spent over two decades as a business strategist and product developer at several multi-national corporations before her love of God, passion for economic justice, and heart for service in NH’s rural communities called her to ministry.
Our musician prepares music that complements the theme of the day. Our worshipers participate as readers and liturgists. We pray together for those we know, and those we do not know in our communities and the wider world. After the service there is a time of gathering and conversation. Services last about an hour, and the attire is casual.
There are all different ages of people at CCNB and many kinds of families; single people, foster families, grandparents with children, retired folk, LGTBQ folk, people with accessibility issues, special needs, people who have grown up in church, and those who are learning to worship for the first time. To make families with small children comfortable, we have installed a “prayground” in our sanctuary where young children can keep themselves entertained during service. There is nothing more wonderful than the joyful noise of children in our sanctuary!
We search for ways to serve others as the body of Christ. We believe in God’s extravagant welcome and God’s abundant grace. CCNB is part of the United Church of Christ, a denomination that welcomes everyone.
