The Ministry to Children and Youth has been a hallmark of our congregation. We welcome children with open arms and love their sense of belonging in our congregation. We want our children and youth to be seen and heard -- even though that often means there is a “joyful noise.” On Sundays, children attend worship with their parents until the Children’s Sermon. At that time they come to the front of the church for their special time with the pastor, the Children’s Sermon, and then go to Sunday school. The children also are active participants in the fellowship hour after church!

The following important components are also a focus of our ministry:

• We have Safer Spaces policies to protect our children that include screening and criminal background checks on our volunteers.
• We include our children in communion – all are welcome at God’s table.  We provide a communion curriculum to the children every 2 years, to support their growing understanding of communion.
• We provide baptism for children and a church home for children and their families.
• Children & Youth Ministry has been actively involved in planning for the Blessing of the Animals worship, Sunday school year-end Children’s Sunday, and an annual Christmas Pageant.
• Children’s Ministry has had service and mission projects each year – including designing sweaters for children who are cold, visiting a nursing home, funding Heifer projects and supporting home-bound members of our congregation.
• We organize congregation-wide events for children and adults, including active involvement with Horton Center, the NH UCC Conference camp in the White Mountains. 

  Our Sunday school program is divided into 3 groups: 1) the youngest, for whom we try to have consistent staff for children’s first “away from parents” group experiences; 2) our school-aged children; 3) our teens. Each year the program is configured to the children active in our church family.

  Our children feel that CCNB is “their church” – a safe and loving place to come, grow, be themselves, ask questions and to experience God’s love.
